Hello again, everyone.
Sorry it's taken us so long to get this place moving. It'll still be very slow for a while longer, so please bear with us.
Hopefully we have some people who are interested in joining, so here's how you do it, and some of the things you need to take into consideration whilst you are creating your character.
How do I join? You need to send us a
note with a link to a character sheet or portrait or your god/ess character. It doesn't have to be posted on deviantart, though that would be helpful, so we can link back to your page for people to leave comments or favourites.
Either the picture, note or comment must contain the following information:
- Their name
- The thing they rule over
We would love it if you included (but they're not required):
- What kind of god/ess they are e.g. Greek, Roman, Celtic, Indigenous, Contemporary etc etc
- Their personality
- Their history (If you'd like, you can add this later, so you can include other god/esses in the club in your history [with their permission, of course!])
What powers am I allowed? What can I rule over? You can rule over almost anything!
However, we would like you to choose the most random and obscure thing you can possibly think of, keeping in mind that we are Forgotten Gods. All the "traditional" things will not be permitted, e.g. Weather, War, Fertility, as well as the Four Elements.
This is to make the club as fun as possible for all members (who likes stereotypes and clichés?) and to hopefully allow as many people as possible to join.
You may also not choose something that is already being ruled over, e.g. Tin Cans, as Duncan, god character of ~
Snagglebucket's already rules over that. There will be a list of members and what they rule over so that you know what not to ask for.
Can I only have one god/ess character? You can have up to three god/ess characters in the club, but you only
need one portrait or character sheet to join. You can submit another two after you've joined.
You can submit all three when you join, if you want. It's all up to you!
Are there any rules I have to follow when creating my god/ess? Why should I follow them, it's my character right? Right now, there's only one Golden Rule: Absolutely
no fan character gods. For example, Shinigami from Bleach or Death Note. (And we mean it!)
We may have to add or remove rules as we go, to make sure the club runs as smoothly as possible.
Yes, it's true that your god is your character, but
Please understand that any of the rules we have here are in place to make the club as enjoyable as possible for everyone. So if you create a fan god character, other people who don't know the TV show/movie/anime/manga/book you're referencing to won't be able to understand and interact with your character as easily as we'd like.
I'm a writer, not an artist, can I still join? What if the picture I drew isn't "good enough" ?Dont worry if words are your craft, you can still join, we just need you to type up a more detailed description of your character, particularly focusing on appearance, so that other members can draw your character. All of the other information listed above need to be included, too.

Snagglebucket would be more than willing to draw you a free character portrait if you feel its required. (Mind you, this offer is extended to the writers only, and we will check if you do only write, because, as much as we love you and want you to join, we dont want to be drawing free character portraits for everyone.)
There is no "good" or "bad" when it comes to character sheets or portraits. We won't exclude anyone for their style, or quality, of art.
If you have any other questions, feel free to send us a note here, or to either ~
vox-vita-anima or ~
SnagglebucketPlease be aware that these rules are liable to change as the club progresses, and complaining won't help anything. However, a nice sensible comment, and legitimate reason as to why that rule should/shouldn't be in place will be appreciated.

Psycho and Insaine are two different things.......One's less offending.

All you must do is write up the information about your character, and put it up as a deviation. Then simply send us a note with the link, and we'll reply to let you know that you're in!
The club journal, Any Questions?, should tell you everything you need to know, but feel free to send another message or note if you have any questions.
